I love taking pictures, but I don’t always like seeing them afterwards!
The other day I was looking at photos I just had developed, and one of the first things I did was throw away the ones where my eyes were half-closed or my mouth was crooked. And you can forget the ones where the camera added 10 pounds. Those were not the images I want in my photo album or hanging on my refrigerator.
As I threw away photos, I wondered if God ever looks at the way I picture Him and wishes I had a more accurate image? I used to imagine God as stern and distant.
I read where the Bible says that God’s Son is the most accurate picture of who God is. So, as I got to know Jesus by reading about His life and the way He loves us through chapters in Bible, I started to see God for who He really is, and get a more accurate image of his character and his heart.
